Spray-Coated Savings: Silicone Roof Restoration at Lake Center Baptist Church in Monkey Island, OK

Ridgeline Roofing & Solar recently wrapped up a Polyglass silicone roof coating at Lake Center Baptist Church in Monkey Island, Oklahoma, bringing energy savings, long-term warranties, and watertight protection—all without the mess or cost of a full tear-off.

This flat roof restoration is more than just a quick fix. It’s a complete system designed to extend the life of aging membranes like TPO, modified bitumen, or EPDM. It’s seamless, efficient, and built to last.

What This Roof Gained

  • ✔ Estimated 30% reduction in cooling costs during Oklahoma’s hot summers
  • ✔ 10-year manufacturer-backed warranty, covering both labor and material, registered by Ridgeline
  • ✔ 50-year material warranty, providing long-term peace of mind
  • ✔ Seamless finish with no exposed joints or vulnerable penetrations
  • ✔ Zero environmental runoff and no landfill waste
  • ✔ Less than half the cost of roof replacement

How We Did It

Our team began by power washing the roof to remove debris, chalk, and contaminants. Once cleaned, we applied trial-grade seam sealer to known weak areas, reinforced them with fleece-backed tape, and then masked the seams with painter’s tape to allow for thermal expansion.

Using a 7,200 PSI spray rig, we applied the high-solids silicone at a wet film thickness of 24 mils, roughly 2.5 gallons per square. This meets Polyglass specifications for their 10/10 warranty—10 years of coverage for both materials and labor. And, as a certified installer, Ridgeline also provides a 20-year workmanship warranty on every coating project.

Tim Yates said it best:

Even after all the years we’ve been spraying this stuff, I still can’t find anything that breaks it down.

Why Silicone is a Smart Choice

Unlike acrylics or aluminum fiber coatings, silicone resists UV breakdown, ponding water, and extreme weather. It’s compatible with most flat roofing systems, provided the existing substrate has enough integrity to bond with the coating. That makes it the go-to option for churches, warehouses, and commercial buildings that want to avoid disruption, reduce costs, and improve performance.

We're spraying some polyglass silicone.
It's Friday night, everybody's tired. It's been a busy week, and it's been fun, actually.
We've had a lot of fun this week.
We power wash this roof to prep it.
Then we come through and we take a seam sealer that is a trial grade, and we hit any bad areas with the seam sealer.
We also use a fleece-backed beetle tape for problem areas.
Then we come through and tape all these seams.
You see all the seam tape that we've used?
Just painter's tape.
You go over the seams, and it helps with the roof expanding and contraction from hot and cold.
Then we spray it.
We need a wet film thickness of 24, which for polyglass and this product is about 2.5 gallons of square.
You get a 10-10.
It's a 10-year manufacturer-backed warranty for material and labor.
They actually pay us to come fix it if you have a problem once we register it for 10 years.
Then Ridgeline puts 20 years behind it, workmanship.
The material itself has a 50-year warranty on it.
To be honest with you, I still, to this day, as long as we've been spraying this product, I still can't find anything to break it down.
We are spray rigs.
Can't really see it right now, but got a spray rig in that trailer right there that's running.
It's a 7,200 PSI pump.
When we clean it out, we just run diesel through it.
Then I leave diesel sitting in the hoses because there's not another product that breaks it down.
Pushing it out and leaving it is about all we can do.
Anyway, if you're interested in getting an estimate, this goes with metal panels.
It also goes with modified roofs.
We spray over TPO, BPDM.
Pretty much anything flat, but it has to have a certain amount of exagradita to warrant the coating.
Great warranty product, great price.
If you're interested, give us a call at Ridgeline Roofing and Solar.
Thanks for watching."
