Ridgeline Roofing & Solar was on-site in Sikeston, Missouri, addressing an urgent temporary roof repair on an EPDM commercial roof. Although the roof isn’t particularly old, improper installation has significantly shortened its lifespan—proof that how a roof is installed is just as important as what is installed.
Tim Yates, founder of Ridgeline, identified major issues with seam separation and improper sealing, which led to a serious leak. For now, Tim applied squeeze-back butyl tape followed by a silicone seam sealer to hold things over until a full repair or replacement can be completed.
As winter approaches, temporary fixes like these can prevent further damage and give property owners time to plan for long-term solutions. Ridgeline Roofing & Solar offers fast, effective service for both commercial and residential roofs, ensuring your property stays protected through all seasons.

Video Transcript: "Hey. Tim Yates. Ridgeline Roofing and Solar. I'm in Sikeston, Missouri today. Just stopped to do a little repair here.
We got a couple other jobs to look at down here in the boot. This is a EPDM roof. It has probably seen its life. It's it's it's really not that old, but because it was installed incorrectly, the life of this roof is, rancher. So let's see what they've sealed a bunch of the seams, and some of the seams are pulling and just that the end.
We had one real bad leak here. I went ahead today and put a, squeeze back butyl tape on it. I'm gonna go over that with some, silicone seam sealer, to get it by until we come and complete the rest of the roof. So pretty weather today. Very windy.
If you guys need anything, please give us a call. Thank you."
