The 3rd Annual Ridgeline Chili Cook-Off may have come with a little rain, but that didn’t stop the heat from rising under the big tent! Held at Ridgeline Roofing and Solar’s Joplin headquarters, this year’s event brought out hundreds of visitors, plenty of wagging tails, and a whole lot of community spirit.
Over ten contestants battled it out for top honors and cash prizes, but only one chili could take home the gold. The winners were:
🥇 1st Place & $500 Grand Prize: “Cluck Norris” by Michael Johnson
🥈 2nd Place & $250 Prize: “Ed’s Red” by Ed August
🥉 3rd Place & $100 Prize: “Cheryl’s Spicy Chili” by Cheryl Mattingly
Together, the event raised over $1,000, split evenly between the Joplin Humane Society and Carthage Humane Society—organizations Ridgeline proudly supports year after year. Attendees met several adoptable pets while enjoying an incredible lineup of homemade chili ranging from traditional red to white chicken and everything in between.
Ridgeline owner Tim Yates shared his thoughts:
“Very successful day, especially for a rainy day. The tent worked great, kept us dry, and gave us plenty of room for contestants, tasters, and judges. We just had a great time doing it.”
The annual Chili Cook-Off has become a cornerstone event for Team Ridgeline, bringing together families, customers, and the community we love to serve. From residential roofing projects to commercial roof repairs, our company’s success is built on the same foundation that makes this event special—teamwork, integrity, and heart.
Thank you, Four States, for showing up and supporting local causes. We’re already looking forward to next year’s competition. Is it too early to start training for 2026? We don’t think so!
